Technology such as VOCAs (Voice Output Communication Aid), computers and environmental controls are utilized throughout our activities. Participants are exposed to and allowed to experiment with many different technological aids. Progressive programs allow individual skills to be built step-by-step. The development and practice of no-tech methods of interacting are also weaved throughout each of our programs. Not only are they the foundation upon which an individual’s ability to communicate is based but they are also necessary to ensure the ability to interact in all situations. Communication cannot cease just because a device is not available!
